MISSION STATEMENT
We at Monterey Elementary School have a shared responsibility to meet the needs of our Pre-K through 6th grade students by providing an effective and challenging program that will cultivate their minds in order that they become effective communicators, information accessors, critical, creative thinkers, self- reflective learners, and productive citizens who are socially responsible, respectful, and safe.
The Monterey school community works together to provide all students with an opportunity to excel academically and socially. At Monterey, our parents, classified staff, and certificated staff work collaboratively to ensure our diverse learners with rigorous academics and innovative techniques to promote future leaders. In conjunction with the core curriculum, we have begun to focus creating fluent writers in order to develop future readers and authors. We encourage parents to volunteer in their child’s classroom. Parents are also invited to take advantage of the parenting classes that are offered; they include English-As-A-Second-Language, Nutrition, and other programs offered by the district. We look forward to serving our community today and in the future.
