Dear Parents,

I would like to take this opportunity to welcome you and your children back for another great year at Monterey Elementary, the school where we make “Hope Happen.” The staff and I are looking forward to another exciting year of learning and we are committed to building a positive home school partnership. We know that in order for our students to be successful it is critical that we work together in order to meet our goals. This year we will continue to focus on developing a strong school/community partnership while promoting an excellence in education for all students. I welcome your input and invite you to join our PTA, School Site Council (SSC), African American Parent Advisory Council (AAPAC) and English Learners Advisory Council (ELAC) and/or be a volunteer in your child’s classroom. We have included a Parent Volunteer Application or you are welcome to come by and pick up an application in our front office. Please read through the important information in the Opening of School Packet and review the school rules with your child. Complete the emergency card and if during the school year your child has a change of address, telephone number or emergency contact please notify the school as soon as possible. In case of emergency or an illness it is important that we have accurate and up-to date information. All contact information MUST be current. Return all necessary information as soon as possible so that we are aware of any changes that will help us to better meet the needs of your children.
